Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Airport / West Wyalong  This morning we depart, flying over the Blue Mountains and landing into Bathurst NSW. On arrival enjoy morning tea and a lap around Mount Panorama, before venturing to Portland. The Portland Silos, now known as the Foundations, were the 20th Silo’s to be added in the Australian Silo Art Trail in May 2018. The works were painted by Guido Van Helten and depict 5 past Portland Cement workers. We enjoy a lunch in Bathurst before flying from Bathurst to Young to visit the Murrumburrah Mills project. Next we head to West Wyalong to the Weethalle Silos. Dinner and overnight stay at the Country Road Motor Inn

Day 2

West Wyalong / Moree After breakfast we depart for Parkes, enjoying morning tea and admission into Parkes Observatory, to view “The Dish”. We then head to the 1926 grain silos at Grenfell, proudly owned by the Grenfell Commodities. Heesco Khosnaran was commissioned for this project. Next stop is Dubbo, with lunch on arrival. We then travel through some beautiful countryside to Dunedoo, visiting their beautiful silo art. Depicted on the side of the silo is Winx, a retired champion Australian thoroughbred and racehorse, with her famous rider Hugh Bowman. This afternoon we fly to Moree, to enjoy the city’s amazing street art and soaking in the artesian baths. Dinner and overnight stay at Dragon Phoenix Spa Resort

Day 3

Moree / Tamworth After breakfast (maybe even an early morning soak in the spas) we fly to Tamworth, the country music capital of NSW. On arrival we head through beautiful farming country to Barraba NSW. The Barraba silos are privately owned and are located on the entrance to the town.12 proposals were received before Fintan Magee was chosen as the winning artist. We enjoy some free time and lunch at The Playhouse Theatre. We continue to Gunnedah, the Gunnedah silo theme is around Dorothea MacKellar’s poem “My Country”. Next we visit Tamworth via the Big Golden Guitar and the National Guitar Museum. This evening we enjoy a highlight dinner and overnight stay at The CH Boutique Hotel

Day 4

Tamworth / Airport This morning we fly to Scone NSW, the horse capital of Australia. We enjoy a scrumptious morning tea, a stud tour and then journey via road to Merriwa. Merriwa boasts the first ever painted silo – the mural depicts a sheep wearing red socks in a canola field. We enjoy a nice country pub lunch before returning to Scone to board your scenic flight home.
