Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival / Delhi  VIP meet & greet service upon arrival off flight. Transfer and check in to your Heritage hotel. Enjoy the rest of your day and evening at your leisure. Overnight at Maidens Hotel.

Day 2

Delhi Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit to Old Delhi to enjoy a rickshaw ride at Chandni chowk. Visit to renowned New Delhi India Gate and visit to a Sikh Temple (Bangla Sahib Gurudwara) and its communal kitchen. Lunch at a local cafe in the market area. Enjoy some time to start shopping! Later in the evening, ‘Celebrate with a Welcome Dinner’ at a local Indian restaurant. Overnight at Maidens Hotel.

Day 3

Delhi / Jaipur Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Jaipur the city known as the ‘Pink City’. Check in to your Heritage hotel. Rest of afternoon at your leisure in this unique destination. Dinner and overnight at Shahpura House.

Day 4

Jaipur Breakfast at the hotel. This morning enjoy a ‘Pink City’ auto rickshaw ride around the city and visit a variety of colourful, local markets to start your shopping experience. Free time for dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at Shahpura House.

Day 5

Jaipur Breakfast at the hotel. Today it is all about shopping and textiles! Explore the markets, visit speciality textile stores and participate in an interactive block-printing workshop. Late afternoon, enjoy a very special experience as you visit a Wilderness Camp which is home to rescue elephants. Walk with them and have a Rajasthani ‘Bush dinner under the Stars’. Return to the hotel. Overnight at Shahpura House.

Day 6

Jaipur / Jodhpur Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the ‘Blue City’ of Jodhpur, famous for its antique furniture warehouses and textiles. Upon arrival check in to your Heritage hotel. Free time for dinner. Overnight at Daspan House Hotel.

Day 7

Jodhpur Breakfast time. Early morning visit to Mehrangarh Fort. Jodphur’s signature powder blue buildings are scattered about the majestic fort. You will explore the ‘Blue City’ on a Heritage walk of the old town. Lunch at a local trendy cafe, then time to shop in the surrounding boutique shops and markets. Enjoy a traditional Rajasthan Thali dinner. Overnight at Daspan House Hotel.

Day 8

Jodhpur Breakfast time. Today you have time to shop till you drop! Visit local textile, furniture and spice stores. Late afternoon, transfer to a nearby farm for a ‘Farewell Degustation dinner extravaganza’!  Fresh farm to plate dining at its best. Return to the hotel. Overnight at Daspan House Hotel.

Day 9

Jodhpur / Delhi Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Delhi, where your tour ends and for your flight home.

Taj Mahal Extension One of the world’s most iconic and beautiful buildings, the Taj Mahal truly is one of the wonders of the world. The Taj was built as a monument to love and was designated a World Heritage Site in 1983. The Taj Mahal looks nearly as immaculate today as when it was first constructed. It is very much part of what makes ‘Incredible India’ incredible.

Day 1

Delhi / Agra Breakfast at the hotel. Drive 4hrs to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. Check in to your 5 star hotel. Free time for lunch. This afternoon visit Agra Fort and get your first glimpse of the Taj Mahal in the distance. Return to hotel for relaxation time. Dinner and overnight at Courtyard by Marriot Hotel.

Day 2

Agra / Delhi Breakfast at the hotel. Rise early for sunrise at the Taj Mahal. Return to hotel for breakfast before returning back to Delhi.

 India is everything, and more, all at once.

As for the language, Hindi isn't spoken by everyone in India - in fact there are more than 20 languages spoken throughout the country and English tends to serve as a common one.

A few Hindi phrases will definitely help along the way: "Namaskar" (hello), "shukriya" (thank you), "aap kaise hai" (how are you), "kitna hai" (how much) and "naam kya hai" (what's your name), may come in handy on your trip.

As for money, you'll be dealing in Indian rupees - there are about 55 rupees to each Aussie dollar. Credit cards are widely accepted, but make sure you know all your pin codes as signing has been phased out around the country.

WHERE TO SHOP

Rajasthan is famous for its colourful embroidered textiles, clothing, homewares, gemstones, silver & gold jewellery, pottery, carpets and durrie rugs, antiques and furniture. As well as miniature paintings, papier mache puppets and embroidered leather shoes.

To buy precious and semi-precious gemstones head to the "pink city" of Jaipur, where gorgeous blue-glazed pottery is also made. Jodhpur holds a treasure trove of shopping bounty.

Marble wares inspired by the Taj Mahal, some of them exquisitely detailed and inlaid with semi-precious stones, can be sourced in Agra, while Varanasi is a popular place to pick up silk and saris.

Delhi is globally recognised for quality and very affordable pricing across a variety of goods.

Mumbai take your pick of jewellery, Sarees or block-printed fabric, Art and of course Retro Bollywood posters and postcards.

Goa is well known for its beautiful variety of decorative Azulejos Tiles. cashew nuts and spices, coconut decor, beachwear, bags and accessories. As well as a variety of hats and musical instruments.

Kerala is known for oils and essence. The best and purest forms of oils and essence are found here. Kochi’s options to shop almost rivals its obsession with food. Pick up an array of packaged spices on offer, such as cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, nutmeg, tamarind, cloves and bay leaves… let the wafting aromas guide you there.

In Cochin there are many varieties of cotton clothes and silk emporiums... you can’t leave without buying at least one traditional saree. Along with colourful bead handicrafts, brass bangles, metal mirrors, silver and gold jewellery.
